'Lottery', 'The Elephant King' to screen in remote cities

'Lottery' and 'The Elephant King' are to screen at Iran remote cities.

'Lottery' and 'The Elephant King' are slated to be screened at remote Iranian cities.

The films will be screened in small Iranian cities in cooperation with Iran-based Ammar Popular Film Festival.

Directed by Hadi Mohammadian, 'The Elephant King' has been screened in Iraq and Jordan before.

Set in Africa, the animated film narrates the story of an elephant who rules over its group like a king.

The queen bears him a son and everybody expects the son to replace his father as heir to the throne. The clumsy baby elephant, however, disappoints them all with its clumsy and incredible propensity, causing destruction and sabotage for the group.

Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian's 'Lottery' enjoys Hamid Farrokhnejad, Mohammad-Javad Ezzati, Saed Soheili, Hadi Hejazifar, Nader Soleimani and Ziba Karam-Ali as the main cast.

“Amir-Ali and Noushin want to get married but their families disagree. They decide to keep their cool. They dream of migrating to America through the US Green Card Lottery,” a short synopsis of the flick read.

The Ammar Popular Film Festival goes against promotion of “individualism and extreme enjoyment without caring about the society's troubles and other human suppression,” the event’s official website notes.
